What do you want to do differently? Identify the top three steps you can take NOW to get 2012 start successfully before it even arrives. The feeling of being ahead of the curve will make you even more productive.

Number two – Reward yourself with a unique and different experience within the next two weeks. Maybe you could get some ideas from http://www.redballoon.com.au/

If the death of Steve Jobs reminds us of anything, it’s the need to live life to the full and not put off exciting, interesting experiences. Get into the habit of doing it regularly. Again, you’ll be amazed how much it will help your productivity (and perhaps give you a different perspective on your work).

Number three – There is a new film coming out called ‘In Time’ with Justin Timeberlake. In the future people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time, but when a young man finds himself with more time than he can imagine he must run from the corrupt police force to save his life.

I’m giving away a Village double pass to the movie. To win, all you have to do is tell me the ONE thing they’ve done this year that has saved them the most time. The best entry gets the double pass (I’ll publish the name in the next e-newsletter so you know it’s for real).

That’s it for now. Have a great year as it speeds along.
To your success

Upcoming Melbourne Workshops – Sales & Negotiation. If you’re in Melbourne and are looking to improve your negotiation or sales skills, I have two public workshops coming up (if you’re not in Melbourne sorry for boring you (:

Hi guys,

I spent this morning chasing my three year old son around the house, with my one year old in my arms. Fantastic exercise.

There’s an article in the Herald Sun today about how dads need to exercise with their children to help get fit. It’s certainly a great way to combine exercising and bonding with your children.

On a similar vein, I’m not normally in for the rah rah of Tony Robbins, but I can’t deny this tip he gives on combining email management with exercise is a cracker. I will happily apply the good ideas wherever I find them.

The amount of time, energy and focus lost due to email overload is profound, and one of the biggest challenges facing the knowledge worker. This is a great example of combining physical activity with email management. And might help you brainstorm some other ways of staying active.

Check out the practical tip here:

Enjoy,

Time flies doesn’t it? Are you making things happen?

When you start each day, try NOT checking your emails as the first step.

Start with the question, “What do I want to achieve?”

Visualise the outcome, and visualise a win you’ve had in the past. One that reminds you that you CAN do it.

That’s all, shouldn’t take more than five minutes, but test it out and see what kind of difference it makes to your day.

Test, test, test!

Have a great day.
